After seeing Oppenheimer at the AMC Imax today 7/23/23 I thought I'd pay ole Papa Murphy's a visit for an easy dinner after a 3 hour epic film. Conveniently located right across from the parking lot next to a couple other businesses, it was quiet in there, no other customers. Gentleman greeted me and was forthcoming about their appetizer specials as I browsed. To my dismay, they had no cookie dough due to some ordering issues with suppliers or something. Hope they get it back and it's the same recipe! Ordered cheese bread & a large cheese pizza. I used to work at a a Papa Murphy's 20 years ago and a lot has changed since then. But the quality of the pizza and breadsticks before and after I baked it were great! The lady who assembled my order was done in a jiffy. At payment, I think it's kinda weird that every single food establishment now directs you to a tip screen when you pay by card--are they charging employees for tips and paying them lower than minimum wage now here? If so, a sad state of affairs for our food service workers. This food isn't cooked so the tip thing was perplexing, BUT, both workers were friendly & I don't wanna be skimpy so I obliged a tip on the card. Establishment was spotless, quiet and I received fast & friendly service. Items baked great. Will return someday when I go to the movies again--this was my second visit here years apart so I'm glad they made it through the pandemic! Pictured below is the cheese bread and pizza after I baked them at home. My only suggestion is that ranch dressing be offered as an option instead of marinara sauce at the customer's request without charge. Got charged a dollar for an ounce packet of ranch brand that I already had at home and I would have gladly exchanged it to forgo the dollar charge. Papa Murphy's used to be super cheap, but not so much anymore. Business is business though, I know. Almost $20 for a Lg Cheese, a Cheesy Bread plus a dollar for ranch and a couple bucks tip. Thanks for the quality product!
We usually love papa Murphys but the last few times we got from there the boards the pizza comes on have burnt our pizzas. We gave them another try tonight thinking we'd just cook it on a lower temperature, the board started on fire and burnt the whole pizza! This was never a problem in the past, I don't understand why they keep burning but I guess we'll just have to take a break from papa Murphys.
If I could rate it a zero I would! Bought a cowboy pizza and a salad and everything was spoiled. When I opened the salad the chicken was spoiled and the lettuce was brown. Baked the pizza. It looked delicious but immediately after first bite I could taste the meats were spoiled too! 🤢🤮 so gross. I WILL NEVER EAT PAPA MURPHY AGAIN!!
Please be aware if you order online, they charge you a tip! Just go in and order it and you will save $2.50. the pizza was fine, but seriously it's a criminal act when the FORCE a tip on YOU. After you get the receipt you'll see. There's no one serving you drinks at a table, you don't have to interact with anyone, there wasn't a delivery. So why the tip? Just basic Bidenomics I guess. Theft, even small(mistakes) they'll call it; is still theft! I'm writing to the attorney general's office for this and don't expect anything except for the chain stores to stop this practice as WE ARE ALL PAYING FOR THOSE EBT users to be charged this EXTRA FEE. F-them and the STATE for not immediately pulling EBT from their stores!
Exceptionally clean. I didn't like being unable to see my pizza being made. The gourmet vegetarian, my style, was very tasty. This will become my Tuesday routine stop now that the Papa Murphy's on Coors and I-40 was forced to close because the dentist next door wanted to expand. The workers there and families who visited this restaurant are definitely feeling the impact.
